Taking a look at the clouds as they wisp past my window, I am yearning to be in her arms again. Memories all bundled up in my fave men’s shirts as it lays crumpled on the floor next to the bed.

I knew the evening would be special, as most are with her, when I opened the door to silence. There had been not one of the joyful, ‘Daddy’s home!’ as the kids bounced off each other to get first claim to one of my legs. Just silence, save for the tinkling of a glass somewhere near the lounge bar.

There she was, the prettiest creature I have even known, and she was wearing my favorite black dress. Handing me a Martini as she leaned in close to my ear, she whispered words of dedication and eagerness.

Straight after, with a quick shower and change into a fresh suit, she was handing me my fedora as we went out the door towards a wondrous enchanting evening of dinner, dancing, and making out at Lover’s Lane.

I am hoping she does not launder that favorite men’s shirt of mine. I yearn to smell the essence of us on its fabric.
