The students, led by Amy Crewdson, 25, and Christopher Buckley, 30, both from Ecclesall, raised £1,200 for Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity.

Events included cake baking, sponsored waxing, and a fancy dress fun run with the fundraising culminating in a ball at Cutlers Hall.

Christopher said: “We chose to support The Children’s Hospital because it helps children in Sheffield but also benefits children from all over the country and we thought it was a really worthwhile cause.

“With help from volunteers on our course and a lot of hard work, fun, laughter and team work, we were able to smash our target of £1,000.

“We are really happy with the end result and pleased we can give something back to the community.”

Fran Hunt, assistant fundraiser at The Children’s Hospital Charity, who accepted a cheque from the student fundraisers on the night of the ball, said: “The students are a really lovely group who have put so much effort into their fundraising. I’m delighted all their hard work has raised such a fantastic amount.”
